A new day is here

Wake Up!

There is a moment… everyday… with most certainty…

where the earth turns just enough to rebuke the night and welcome the dawn

This moment, where the dawn bursts through the darkness, has been the single-most representation of hope around the world for millennia. Why? Because it gives us all the reminder that even when things feel completely out of our control, darkness is not permanent. We cannot make the earth turn. We cannot push back the night with our strength or somehow pull the sun closer to us, but in due time, if we can persist, morning will come.

Aurora is meant to remind you of the surety and beauty of the dawn in your walk with God.

You might be facing the night of despair, the night of the mundane, the night of lacking, the night of waiting, the night of hopelessness, the night of insecurity, the night of mistakes, but Aurora calls out for you to wait, persist, pray, and apply the promises of Scripture. Each chapter reminds you that there is still hope, that there is still a miracle on the horizon, that we serve an everpresent God who always sees you.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Psalm 30:5

the Author

Kalee Bernard

Kalee Bernard is married to the love of her life, Daniel, who is the Senior Pastor of First Church Sterling Heights, located right outside of Detroit, Michigan. She is the mother of three children that are full of life and personality - Claire, Elise, and Khristian. Her life is devoted to sharing the Gospel - whether through speaking at conferences around the United States, shepherding the beautiful people of First Church, or by sharing her heart around the dinner table with her family, her heartbeat is showing other people the love of Jesus.

A note from the author

“Aurora is the product of five years of late night refining, chapter-writing while making mac and cheese, editing in extreme transitions, and early morning prayer. As a mother of three young children, a pastor’s wife, a traveling speaker, and many other responsibilities that I need not mention, I have had more than one moment where I felt trapped, discouraged, dislocated, and depleted. I have a beautiful life, but even beautiful things can be heavy sometimes. The chapters of this book are the overflow of what God has done in my life, heart, and mind.

The moments of reflection are provided so you, too, can cement in your heart the vibrant, new thing He is doing within you. God gave me a burden to write a book, even when I felt inadequate and ill-equipped, but I know this burden is so that YOU would open your eyes to the beauty of your relationship with God, that you would be awakened to His ever-present help, that you would see the dawn in your life again!”
